Travel from Newark, NJ Niagara Falls via Orlando

Finally the day came and it was time to leave for a month trip to London Gatwick for our long trip to the U.S.. We had booked for the night in an airport hotel, so that we can be our way to the new day to the next. Let me stress that this trip was 9-11.

Our flight was on a flight to Newark, New Jersey with Virgin Atlantic and a return flight from Orlando with Virgin too. We booked car into two parts, both with Alamo. Why rental car ismore expensive than New York, the first leg would be for 7 days and then we would return the vehicle to Orlando and take a different hotel for the rest of the trip.

Our route was planned for the night landing at Newark in a Holiday Inn near the airport. Then head for the next day in Niagara, where they spend two nights, then travel to Florida, two nights on the road.

We left on time from Gatwick Airport for nearly seven hours of flight. Although we wereRegular travelers to Florida, we never had before in New York and was a bit 'would be limited as our time we had to visit the city on the water provided on this trip. We arrived in the afternoon after flying very low along the Hudson River offers a beautiful view of the skyline of New York, on a line of Newark. The airport itself had undergone some major changes and was to be a bit 'confused, honestly. We finally cleared immigration and collected our luggage andThis time, the Alamo car rental at the airport, so we are waiting for a bus, had to take us there. In fact, where we waited, we could see the deposit rent outside the airport across the street. The bus came and took us to the warehouse. We had booked one-way rentals and we knew we had to pay a drop-off fee of $ 300. The employee had tried us in the restoration, although we had booked a minivan with seven seats for the four of us talking and all of our pre-paid fees and insurance. We paid theDrop-off fee and airport collection (which they pay us), gave us the keys and told us where he was administered the vehicle. Imagine our surprise when we became the vehicle is, in fact, a GMC minivan 8 seats, it seems what we wanted to pay for the upgrade and even better, it was Florida plates! At that time we were eager to start, so you do not have problems much more than us. We drove to our hotel and Inn are within walking we came to the Holiday. Uslost in the head and checked on our room to freshen up a bit 'before our dinner. We opted to stay at the hotel to eat and drink a bit 'before going for the night.

The next morning, with our body clocks still time British, there could be up to 5 clock, fresh and ready for your trip to Niagara. We start at 5:30 clock and we decided to have breakfast on the road. After a while 'a nightmare trying to get the highway, we finally left the area of Newark. Daylightcome, and we found a Perkins, breakfast on the go. The rest of the trip was fairly uneventful and we noticed how similar the landscape, where we lived in the UK. When approached Niagara Falls, probably about 30 minutes away, I saw what I thought was steam from a cooling tower was in the distance. It turned out that fall.

We decided on the Canadian side of the waterfalls and had booked two nights at the Sheraton. Once at the border, wehad to pass through customs and immigration authorities to leave, we had no problems and were in about 15 minutes. It 'was when we covered the face of it, the bridge, what a magnificent sight and lost. I can only say that the photos do not do justice. We drove to our hotel and then checked out to see Niagara. We decided to walk down, and it only took about 5-10 minutes. The first thing that strikes could think of was that the spray rises so high in factThe next morning it was raining when we left the hotel, I thought it was, you know, late to drizzle, but it was actually the spray of waterfalls. The direction of the wind blowing towards our hotel. We have all the usual tourist things, went to where the river are the vertebrae. I was surprised to see so many people armish there, I do not know if it is one of vacation time for them or what, but it was certainly a lot. We then saw more of them on the trip byPennsylvania. We have the "Maid of the" Mist, men, and it was spectacular. We left the boat in the direction of Horseshoe Falls, as soon as you hear the boat near the engine, as the captain increased the power to make in the area, the only thing I describe is something like the Arctic and 'state only known throughout the world, and will be a white spray. Even with waterproof poncho is still located in the water somewhere. The drive over, head back to theDock and take the elevator to the top again, back to the main road. We also have a tour that takes you behind the waterfall. We found the Canadian people were fantastic and we felt good value for money. We never had, our money, how could all be paid in U.S. dollars. One thing to remember is that once again the application of GST sales tax for purchases in Canada. It is limited to certain things, so check what you need for action. Our second day we went toNiagara on the Lake, a beautiful place with some beautiful scenery. It is a jet boat you on a ride that looked fun can go here. On a clear day you can the CN Tower in Toronto to see in the distance. That night we crossed to the U.S. side to Outlet Mall, where we have some great opportunities to visit.

The next day we extracted from our hotel and began the trip to Florida. We had a little bet to see who is the first man, a wild palm tree was there, butIt would be a day or two away yet. We are back in the U.S. and towards Buffalo, where we have the Interstate. After New York state next we entered, was in Pennsylvania, and we went to Harrisburg and the next state of Maryland, where our first night spent. We stayed in a motel and were surprised by the difference between here and elsewhere who stayed at. It 'was a Sunday and the hotel bar closed at 22.30 clock. It seemed they were more religious than some of theother places we stopped.

However, we were starting the following day off and I must say that the landscape in Pennsylvania and Maryland was much better and was the past, cities with their churches and picturesque steeples PA very picturesque in autumn colors of the leaves. And 'our intention to lower the Blue Ridge Parkway and cross the Shenandoah National Park for part of the journey, so for the Front Royal and soon you enter the park's head. Since we provide and payThe share of small size, we see a deer crossing the road ahead. We thought this was a taste of things to come, but believe it or not, that was the only one we've seen! The speed limit on winding roads is only about 20 miles an hour so that the journey may take some time. Again and again there are overlooks where you can stop and some photos. This area is in the history of civil war and there were many plaques, memory of life among the soldiers of North and South lost. A large part of the landscapeConsideration will not have changed much over the years and you can imagine what it means when you look at the battlefield was down. because you can see, is how the name Blue Ridge on it a blue tinge on the hills in the distance and this will put the trees came the "blue" in Blue Ridge, from which isoprene released into the atmosphere, then the characteristic odor mountains and their characteristic color. There is information stations along the route andplaces to buy refreshments. We drove along the track for about three hours and then left the highway and our next stop in Roanoke, Charlotte and South Carolina, where the connection to a Howard Johnson spent the night. The girl at the reception is the southern drawl we have found so beautiful. Princess Diana was killed not long before we noticed how the UK has been very difficult, their suffering, which we thought was expressed very nice.

The next day, wewanted to get to Jacksonville, Florida for our last night to stop and visit some friends. We left early and the motorway south to Charleston, where we traveled member of the I-95. This Interstate runs from northern Maine to Miami, Florida. We passed through Savannah and it was here that the $ 10 I won the detection of a wild palm! Soon we were entering Jacksonville, Florida and was in sight. When we arrived, we chose a hotel on the beachand checked in was early afternoon and went to meet our friends. We met and we are back to their house for a bit 'and to meet later in Mandarin Ale House for a meal later. After a great evening we returned to our hotel, we set up in S. Augustine the next day. This was a great day of St. Augustine is said to be the oldest city in the USA and is steeped in history with a Spanish flavor. We looked at the Fort and some shops. Later In the afternoon we decided to go to Orlando. We have adopted and brought us from the land of the mouse.

The temperature was always much warmer and we had turned into shorts SC to Orlando, but as we faced was very warm. When we got there, we decided to leave the car and ordered them during the voyage there was needling, we paid $ 300 for the privilege of returning a rental car in Florida, Florida! So when we went to rent> Orlando complained to the clerk, went to speak with a supervisor and came back to tell us that the refund is $ 300 and gave us a new 7-seater Dodge Grand Caravan. So that was a good result.

We had pre-booked accommodation and Orlando during our stay, we have theme parks and all the other things that make the tourists. We also set for a few days in Fort Myers, this has always been a favorite of us. We stayed at the Pointe Estero condo right onBeach. I can heartily recommend a trip like this and look forward to doing it again. They may be much more of the country in this way.
